GINA GERSHON

May 27, 2019

This brings us to the end of the extremely fun Gina Gershon Marathon. A huge thank you to those of you who followed along the whole time and sent the lovely messages and I hope you continue to enjoy all of the future actor marathons as well.

I wasn't able to see everything, but I was able to see most of what's listed on her IMDb acting credits. I'm very happy with that. I saw a whole lot of films and TV shows I had never seen before. I didn't like all of them, but I liked or loved most of them. It was also fun to re-visit the things I had already seen and enjoy them all over again. Gina Gershon is a great actress who will continue to bring us even more joy in the future and I, for one, can't wait.

Everything in yellow I was able to watch. Those that are highlighted in red, I wasn't able to see. The film credits are on the left and the TV credits are on the right.

1989 - Suffering Bastards - Movie - I could only find it on VHS and it was very expensive.
1993 - Joey Breaker - Movie - again, I could only find it on VHS and too expensive. I don't own a VHS player anymore.
1998 - One Tough Cop - Movie - I could only find a DVD that was over $80. I can't justify spending that much on a DVD I'd probably only watch once.
1989 - The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd - I see this TV show come up in just about all of my actor marathons. I finally read an interview with Blair Brown where she discusses how the powers that be with that show really screwed up and never paid for the rights to use the music so it's likely that show will never see the light of day again.
1992 - Miss Rose White - TV movie - couldn't find it anywhere.
1998 - Legalese - TV movie - couldn't find it anywhere.
2004 - Kevin Hill - TV show - the show was only on for one season and I could only find this episode on YouTube in Spanish, which I don't speak.
2005 - The Studio - TV show - as best as I could figure out, only a pilot was filmed and I was unable to find that.
2005 & 2011 - Two Sara Palin spoof Funny or Die videos - I wasn't able to find either of those on any website.
2014 - Me - I'm really not sure if this was a theatrical movie or a TV movie. I can't seem to find much information on it so my guess is it was filmed but never released... which happens.
2018 - #Fashionvictim - TV movie - looks like a Lifetime production but I wasn't able to find it anywhere so I'm not sure if it had aired yet or not.

By all means, if you know where I can see any of those listed above, let me know and I'll update this page.

Watched the 1996 movie Bound starring Gina Gershon, Jennifer Tilly, Joe Pantoliano, John P. Ryan, Christopher Meloni and Richard C. Sarafian among many others. An ex-con butch lesbian is hired to do maintenance in an apartment building. She is seduced by the woman next door who is in a relationship with a man who launders money for the mob and wants out. They come up with a plan to steal over two million dollars he's supposed to turn over to the mafia boss, but the plan doesn't go as expected. If you want to know what happens, you have to see the movie. I've followed Gina Gershon on Instagram for a long time and not that long ago she posted a photo of her and Jennifer Tilly where she said that she was warned that playing a butch lesbian would ruin her career and her agents wouldn't rep her but she did it anyways and it's among her favorite. Great decision she made. This movie really showed the world how great she is and what she's capable of as an actor. I have no doubt this film led to a lot more work for her... all you have to do is look at her credits of non-stop work every since.

Watched the 1995 movie Showgirls starring Elizabeth Berkley, Gina Gershon, Kyle MacLachlan, Glenn Plummer, Robert Davi, Alan Rachins, Gina Ravera, Lin Tucci, Patrick Bristos and Rena Riffel among others. A woman named Nomi Malone, who is a tough, bad-ass drifter with a questionable past, hitches her way to Las Vegas with dreams of becoming a dancer going from working as a stripper and lap dancer to headliner in a real Vegas show after she intentionally harms her nemesis, Cristal Connors (played by Gina Gershon), to get it. In some ways she's street smart and in other ways she's very naive, especially when it comes to the "business" side of things. Her need of being loved clouds her judgement at times in trusting the wrong people. The movie failed miserably at the box office with very cruel reviews by the "critics" who just didn't get it, but has since gone on to win the hearts of the public and gained a huge cult following... me included, and is among my favorite movies.

Watched the 2007 movie P.S. I Love You starring Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Kathy Bates, Gina Gershon, Lisa Kudrow, Harry Connick Jr., James Marsters, Nellie McKay, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Dean Winters. A woman's husband dies of a brain tumor he knew was coming, so he set into motion a series of letters and activities he wanted his wife to do after he was gone and to look for the signs on what to do with her life. The best friend characters played by Hilary Swank, Lisa Kudrow and Gina Gershon are hilarious and heartwarming and Kathy Bates can do no wrong in my eyes and Harry Connick Jr. and Gerard Butler are just yummy. Of course the movie made me cry a few times so if you're going to watch it, have some Kleenex handy.

Watched the 1998 movie Prague Duet or it's alternate title Lies & Whispers starring Gina Gerson and Rade Serbedzija and a wonderful supporting cast. An American woman, who is a child psychiatrist and educated about the effects of war has on children, is invited to Prague for a conference. She meets an older Czech writer, who is being considered for a position in the culture ministry, and the two soon fall in love. They have being Jewish with relatives who died in concentration camps in common. When they are visiting his grandfather, it is discovered that her grandfather was really a Nazi who killed Jews. Once the news is leaked to the press, their lives take a miserable turn. A lot happens I'm not going to give away. You'll have to see for yourself. This is a fantastic, very well-done movie I highly recommend. It's a difficult movie to find but if you keep an eye on Amazon and eBay you'll likely find a reasonably priced DVD.

May 27, 2019

Watched the 2011 movie Killer Joe starring Matthew McConaughey, Emile Hirsch, Juno Temple, Gina Gershon and Thomas Haden Church. The characters are Texas redneck trailer park trash. A young man who sells drugs and bets on the horses lives with his mother and her boyfriend. She steals his drug money which leaves him owing his dealers a lot of money and threatening to kill him. She kicks him out so he goes to his dad's trailer where he lives with his wife (Gina Gershon) and daughter. They hatch a plan to have his mother killed for the insurance money and hire a Texas police detective who moonlights as contract killer. They can't pay him up front so his "retainer" is he gets the daughter until they have the money. I probably don't have to say that a lot of things go very wrong along the way. If you're the type of person who gets offended at every little thing at the drop of the hat, you probably shouldn't see this, but otherwise it's a very well done movie and worth the time to see.

Watched the 2007 movie What Love Is starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Matthew Lillard, Sean Astin, Mars Callahan, Andrew Daly, Gina Gershon, Anne Heche, Tamala Jones, Shiri Appleby, Jud Taylor and TC Carson. The movie was also written and directed by Mars Callahan. A man plans to propose marriage to his girlfriend on Valentine's Day with his friends there as witnesses, but finds that she has left him. His friends show up, as do some women they invited from a local bar. The rest of the movie is non-stop dialogue... whether it be the men talking about women, the women talking about men or individual conversations going on between the men and women... the dialog just keeps going. Don't get me wrong, the movie was very enjoyable and worth the time to watch, but I can't remember the last time I heard that much dialog in a movie. I'm curious as to how many pages that script was.

Watched the 2015 movie Staten Island Summer starring Graham Phillips, Zack Pearlman, John DeLuca, Bobby Moynihan, Mike O'Brien, Will Forte, Fred Armisen, Cecily Strong, Ashley Greene, Vincent Pastore, Penny Marshall, Kate Walsh, Gina Gershon, Method Man and Kate McKinnon among many others. This is one of those silly coming of age stories that revolves around a group of lifeguards who work at a Staten Island club pool and are planning a big party to say goodbye to summer and to each other as they are graduating from high school and moving on with their lives. The movie reminded me a lot of a cross between the 1979 movie Meatballs and the 1980 movie Caddyshack. Gina Gershon plays a mom who is always drunk and having "relations" with one of the lifeguards. Catching all of the cameos in this movie was a lot of fun. This is definitely not for young kids but teenagers and young adults would probably enjoy it the most, though I'm over 50 and really liked it.

May 26, 2019

Watched the 2010 movie Across the Line: The Exodus of Charlie Wright starring Aidan Quinn, Mario Van Peebles, Jordan Belfi, Corbin Bernsen, Gary Daniels, Raymond J. Barry, Claudia Ferri, Andy Garcia, Danny Pino and Gina Gershon among others. Charlie Wright is banker who has been caught defrauding clients out of billions of dollars in a Ponzi scheme. He's able to flee the country before the FBI can get him. Some of the people he scammed were members of the Russian mob who send mercenaries to find him and get the money back. Also, a Mexican drug lord who is in major debt, kidnaps Charlie and offers him protection if he pays off his debt. Gina Gershon plays the drug lord's wife. Charlie escapes during a gun battle between the two groups and goes in search of a woman he used to know. There's a lot more to it and the outcome isn't what you'll be expecting. I thought it was a really good movie.

May 26, 2019

Watched the 1991 movie City of Hope starring Vincent Spano, Tony Lo Bianco, Angela Bassett, Gina Gershon, Kevin Tighe, Frankie Faison, Gloria Foster, Chris Cooper, Joe Morton and a whole lot of others. This is an ensemble movie with a lot of different stories going on in a New Jersey neighborhood of poverty and corruption by law enforcement and government officials whose end goal is to burn down the neighborhood to make way for new luxury housing and shopping centers (sounds like California right now).  There are too many subplots to go into detail here, but the movie is on Amazon Prime right now so hop on over and watch it if you have it. It's well worth the time to see.

May 26, 2019

Watched the 2004 movie 3-Way starring Dominic Purcell, Joy Bryant, Ali Larter, Desmond Harrington, Dwight Yoakam and Gina Gershon. A man discovers his wife is having an affair. When he goes to confront them on a boat, he finds them both dead. With his past, he knows he'd be the one blamed for it so he takes the boat out and dumps them at sea. He moves on to another town where he runs a sign making business and stumbles upon a couple discussing loudly their plan to kidnap the man's wife (Gina Gershon) for the ransom money and then kill her. The man decides to get involved to intercept the ransom, which sets off a whole series of events. I won't go into detail, but I will say it gets pretty confusing and if you're not paying attention, you'll miss something important so don't let yourself get distracted if you're going to see this. It was worth seeing once. I can't imagine watching it more than that.

May 25, 2019

Watched the 2009 movie The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard starring Jeremy Piven, Ving Rhames, James Brolin, Alan Thicke, David Koechner, Kathryn Hahn, Ed Helms, Jordana Spiro, Wendie Malick and Will Ferrell among many others. The owner of a car dealership is about to go bankrupt and hires a mercenary, Don Ready, and his team to help boost their sales for the 4th of July weekend and save the business. A rich rival dealer wants to buy him out so his entitled 30 something son can use the property to rehearse with his boy-band. Don has fallen for the owner's daughter, who happens to be engaged to the rival's son. He's also dealing with issues pertaining to the death of his previous business partner. Gina Gershon has a brief uncredited cameo as a customer having sex in a car with Don. The movie has a zany cast of characters and a lot of vulgar humor. With me, anything Will Farrell is connected to, I either love it or hate it and very rarely find an in-between. This is one of those rare in-between. I don't hate it and I don't love it. It's ok and worth watching once but not one of those I'd watch again.

May 25, 2019

Watched the 2005 movie One Last Thing starring Michael Angarano, Cynthia Nixon, Sunny Mabrey, Gina Gershon, Johnny Messner, Wyclef Jean, Gideon Glick, Matt Bush and Ethan Hawke. A teenage boy has a terminal brain tumor and is granted a wish through an organization. Everyone, including his widowed mother, assumes he wants to meet his favorite football player and they arrange it, but his real wish is to have a date with a supermodel he's in love with. She's a troubled young woman on the brink of destroying her modeling career and her agent, played by Gina Gershon, convinces her to meet with him. She does, but only for a few minutes and that wasn't enough for him so he and two friends to to New York to find her. The three have quite an adventure and he sees visions of his deceased father everywhere he goes. I'm not going to say any more. I will say you'd better have a box of Kleenex handy.

May 23, 2019

Watched the 1991 movie Out For Justice starring Steven Seagal, William Forsythe, Jerry Orbach, Jo Champa and Gina Gershon among others. I'm really not a Steven Seagal fan... there's just something about him that grates on my last nerve. But, my unwritten rule of my actor marathons is that I must watch everything that is available to see, so I did. A cop finds out his best friend and fellow cop has been murdered in front of his wife and kids by an old school friend they grew up with who became a drug addict and drug kingpin. Gina Gershon plays his sister. After a whole lot of really bloody violence, it becomes clear that not all is what it seems and the reason for the cop's killing is very personal. If you like Seagal, I'm sure you'll like this movie.

May 22, 2019

Watched the 2017 movie Permission starring Rebecca Hall, Dan Stevens, David Joseph, Morgan Spector, Gina Gershon and Jason Sudeikis. A couple who has been together for years and have never had any relationships with other people are at the point in their relationship where marriage would be the next step. The woman's brother suggests that they explore seeing other people to be sure they're really right for each other. The woman is more open to the idea but her boyfriend goes along with it anyways after pressure from her. Each of them have their "affairs" - Gina Gershon plays one of the boyfriends trysts. What happens is a lot of people get hurt because of her and only one is smiling at the end. The second part to the film is her brother and his gay lover who are at odds over adopting a baby. It's an ok movie, not great but not bad. It's not a feel good movie by any means and I felt the energy get sucked out of me as the movie went on. I definitely wanted to slap the hell out of the lead female character. The one really interesting thing about this movie is, for once, all of the full frontal nudity was the male characters and not the female characters. That's something you never see.

May 19, 2019

Watched the 2014 movie The Scribbler starring Katie Cassidy, Garret Dillanhunt, Michelle Trachtenberg, Elizabeth Dushku, Michael Imperioli, Gina Gershon and Billy Campbell. A young woman has been institutionalized with multiple personalities and has been treated to the point where she's able to leave the hospital and live in an apartment building that is sort of a halfway house for people with all kinds of mental disorders. Gina Gershon plays a bipolar sex addict. The only male resident is an old "friend with benefits" of hers who fakes mental illness to be the rooster in the hen house and get laid. A huge percentage of the tenets die by "suicide" or what everyone thinks is suicide. The woman has an electronic device she is supposed to use on herself to burn away the extra personalities until it's just her. Throughout the movie she is being interviewed by a detective and doctor because of one of the suspicious nature of one of the resident's death. I don't want to give away too much of the story here. The movie starts out as a drama with a bit of a thriller vibe, then morphs into a science fiction supernatural something. It's odd to say the least. It's not a great movie, but it's not bad either so it was worth watching.

May 19, 2019

Watched the 1997 movie Face/Off starring John Travolta, Nicolas Cage, Joan Allen, Gina Gershon, Allesandro Nivola, Dominique Swain, Nick Cassavetes, Margaret Cho and CCH Pounder among others. A detective survives being shot by a psycho assassin, but his young son died in the incident. The story picks up 6 years later where the detective is now the head of a task force with the purpose of finding the psycho and detaining him and his lot, dead or alive. The psycho had already positioned a dirty bomb set to go off in a few days in Los Angeles but was taken down before they could find out more. With the psycho in a coma, the detective undergoes a procedure to switch faces and voices with him in order to find out where the bomb is and detonate it. As you can imagine, that goes very badly. Gina Gershon plays the mother of the psycho's young son and the sister of his main drug kingpin. This is a really good movie if you haven't already seen it yet.

May 19, 2019

Watched the 1995 movie Best of the Best 3: No Turning Back starring Phillip Rhee (who also directed and produced this film), Gina Gershon, Christopher McDonald, Dee Wallace, Michael Baily Smith, Peter Simmons and Mark Rolston among others. I have never seen the first two, or any of the other movies in this franchise so I wasn't sure I'd like this one, but I did. The movie takes place in a small mid-western town where a group of murderous neo-nazis want to build their headquarters. The lead character is an Asian man and his family is under attack by the nazis. Gina Gershon plays a school teacher who doesn't like him much at first but after they were set up on a blind date, they fell in love. After a town hall meeting to determine if the nazis could build their headquarters in town is denied, the nazis attack his family members and he retaliates. A good story of good vs. evil. I may have to go back and watch the other movies in the franchise when I have time.

May 19, 2019

Watched the 2002 movie Slackers starring... you know what? Who cares who it stars. This is one of the worst pieces of garbage I've seen in a long time. A bunch of college kids plot and scheme to fudge their way through college without actually doing any work. It seems the entire effort in making this movie was spent on trying to come up with as much vulgar "humor" as possible without even really trying to come up with a good story. Gina Gershon has an uncredited cameo as a woman in a bar. I can't believe any actor would agree to be in something this horrible. Don't waste your time and certainly don't spend any money on this when there are so many good movies out there to choose from.

May 18, 2019

Watched the 1988 movie Cocktail starring Tom Cruise, Bryan Brown, Elizabeth Shue, Gina Gershon, Laurence Luckinbill, Kelly Lynch and Ron Dean. A man attending business school in New York becomes a bartender to earn money to pay the bills. He learns from his bartending partner how to do the flairing style, which is a way to dazzle bar patrons with choreography, singing and juggling of bottles and glasses. He wants him and his partner to open their own bar but is met with resistance. He meets and falls for a woman (Gershon). His partner says she'll be in bed with someone else before the week is over, which turned out to be him, and their partnership ended. He moves to Jamaica to continue bartending to raise money for his own bar. He meets a woman there, he cheats on her, she's pregnant, she leaves, the old partner is back in the story but not doing well mentally and is tragic. He goes to find the woman he loves and bring her back. Of course I've left out a lot of details for those who haven't seen it yet. This really is a good love story and date night movie.

May 18, 2019

Watched the 1987 movie Sweet Revenge starring Nancy Allen, Ted Shackelford, Martin Landau, Gina Gershon and Michelle Little. A news reporter is doing a story about women who have gone missing in Los Angeles. She is abducted along with her daughter and three women who believed they were getting modeling jobs and taken to Asia to be sold into white slavery. They meet up with a smuggler who helps them escape and defeat the kingpin of the operation. I'm not going to lie. The movie is cheap and not that great, yet not so bad either.

May 18, 2019

Watched the 2014 movie The Lookalike starring Jerry O'Connell, Justin Long, John Corbett, Gillian Jacobs, Scottie Thompson, Gina Gershon and Luis Guzman among others. The movie is listed as a comedy thriller, but there's very little comedy in it and it's more of a drama. The stories are all over the place and I almost turned it off but I stayed with it until the end. An ex-basketball player is now a drug dealer to pay off his dead father's gambling debts. His brother is a drug addict and has run up gambling debts of his own and a loan shark is threatening to kill him. A bitter old man wants to have sex with the daughter of a man who apparently sexually abused his daughter leading to her suicide. A couple of bungling criminals and drug manufacturers have been hired to make that happen. The girl who is supposed to be the one to have sex with the old guy dies by a freak accident, the the bungling criminals find a lookalike to take her place so they can get the money. A girl who made a plea bargain with the cops, becomes an informant and has to get recorded evidence of the former basketball player's drug dealings but instead she hooks up with his brother. There's a woman who is deaf and an amputee with cancer and on a mission to commit suicide who hooks up with the former basketball player. Then there are the detectives on the case, one of which is played by Gina Gershon. That's a lot going on and like I said, it's all over the place util the last 10 minutes or so, but getting to that point was almost unbearable. I'm sure this is one of those movies with a lot of mixed reviews, some like it and some don't. I didn't care for it much, but you might.

May 18, 2019

Watched the 1985 movie Girls Just Want to Have Fun starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Lee Montgomery, Helen Hunt, Jonathan Silverman, Shannen Doherty, Ed Lauter and Holly Gagnier. I was 17 when this movie first hit the theaters and was all anyone talked about for a while. A new girl at a Chicago private Catholic girl's school with a strict military father becomes best friends with the rebel of the school due to their common love of a dance TV show. When the show announces a competition for new regular dancers for the show, they decide to try out. She makes the cut for the finals and is paired with a handsome boy. Of course there's the jealous rich girl who never really had to work for anything in her life because her daddy gave her everything. The ending is predictable, but still a whole lot of fun to watch. The 80s were an amazing time for music, loud clothes and big hair. Gina Gershon plays one of the unnamed dancers in the dance contest.

May 18, 2019

Watched the 2002 made for TV movie Borderline starring Gina Gershon, Sean Patrick Flanery, Michael Biehn, Eddie Driscoll and Nick Boraine. A criminal psychiatrist, who works in a prison and has influence in whether criminals are paroled or not, loses custody of her kids in her divorce hearing because her work with the criminally insane is considered too dangerous for the kids. One of her psychotic patients is released and kills her ex-husband and his girlfriend and threatens to frame her for it if she refuses a relationship with him. Her detective boyfriend believes her, but the evidence points to her... especially after learning of her childhood. There's a whole lot of twisting going on in this movie to the point where you're really not sure who the killer really is. I thought this was a good movie and worth watching.

May 18, 2019

Watched the 2014 movie Mall starring Vincent D'Onofrio, Gina Gershon, James Frenchville, Cameron Monaghan, Idina Menuez and John Hensley among others. If you're in the mood for a really heavy movie to watch, try this one. There are a few sub-stories that revolve around the main story of a man who murders his mother and goes on a shooting spree at the mall where he was fired from the tuxedo store. One is of a young cynical guy who analyzes and judges everyone and everything. He's in love with a young redhead girl, who is a psycho. Gina Gershon plays a wife and mom who is unhappy and seeks to get laid. An older business man pervert who is unfaithful to his wife. An immigrant mall security guard who was once "muscle" for a cartel and mourns the death of his wife. A small group of trouble making teens. The movie is well done, but it's so heavy it just sucks your energy away. You'll need to balance it with something a little more light hearted.

May 12, 2019

Watched the 2004 movie Out of Season starring Dennis Hopper, Gina Gershon, Dominique Swain, Jordan Frieda, Bill Armstrong and Jim Carter. There's a whole lot going on in this very confusing movie. A man worked at a seaside amusement park all summer, then couldn't leave because all of his money was stolen. He tries to rob a bar but is caught by the owner (Hopper). He teaches the guy how to be a burglar so he can rob the rich guy who owns the amusement park. His girlfriend wants him to rob her rich father of his jewels, who happens to be the owner of the amusement park. The rich father's wife (Gershon) wants her lover, who is a homicidal religious nut, to kill him and make it look like a robbery. The rich father knows about it, and is paying the crazy guy get his wife to confess on tape without her knowledge about wanting her husband dead so he can use it as evidence at their divorce trial. It all gets twisted when the first guy shows up to steal the jewels. Both the rich guy and his wife thinks it's the crazy guy and things go very bad when they realize it's not him. Then there's a banker who wants the property the amusement park is on to build a shopping mall. Did I mention before that this is a confusing movie? It was worth the time to watch, but you really have to pay attention to what's happening.

May 11, 2019

Watched the 2005 season 1 episodes 12 & 13 of the animated TV show American Dad Gina Gershon guest voiced on titled Sam of Arabia parts 1 & 2. Stan does something stupid and the whole family is sent to Saudi Arabia. Stan likes that women have no rights there so he decides to give up his American citizenship and stay in Saudi Arabia... until the whole family pisses off the entire country and they're being punished. I love this show. Seth MacFarlane is brilliant!

May 11, 2019

Watched the 2014 season 5 episode 9 of the TV show Community Gina Gershon guest starred in. The show is about a colorful group of character attending a community college in Colorado who form a study group and become close friends. In this episode, 2 of the group are roommates... one wants her brother to move in and the other wants his girlfriend to move in. They decide to play an old 80's retro VCR interactive video game to determine who it would be. Gina Gershon plays the wife of the guy starring in the VCR game. When he lands the job to make the game, she wants him to quit his job at Apple (because what kind of company gives stock options at Christmas instead of a bonus) and move to Los Angeles so they can get rich and do cocaine. This is a really funny show for those of you who like sitcoms.

May 11, 2019

Watched the 2015 comedy short film Cocktails & Dreams starring Chris Fairbanks. This is a hilarious 11 minute film where Chris Fairbanks is inserted into different clips from the 1988 movie Cocktail starring Tom Cruise, Elizabeth Shue and Bryan Brown. Gina Gershon's appearance in this is a quick cameo shot from the original movie. I'm adding the film here so you all can see it.

May 11, 2019

Watched the 2015 documentary Sinatra: All or Nothing At All. Based on his life told through the stories of the 12 songs he chose for his retirement concert, this four hour documentary is done mostly with interviews from Frank Sinatra himself and the people who knew him, but there are some voices that were done by actors. Gina Gershon did the voice of Ava Gardner. If you're a Frank Sinatra fan, you'll want to see this.

May 11, 2019

Watched the two season 3 episodes of the TV series Elementary titled Enough Nemesis to Go Around and The Female of the Species Gina Gershon guest starred in. The show is a modern day telling of Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick Watson where they solve different crimes each week, yet part of the stories are continual like a prime time soap opera. Gina Gershon's character was a woman who had her husband and several others killed so she could take over his cartel. I don't watch the show that often because it doesn't hold my interest for very long, but it's in its 7th season so that means a whole lot of people enjoy it.

May 10, 2019

Watched the 1992 TV miniseries Sinatra starring Philip Cassnoff, Gina Gershon, Marcia Gay Harden, Olympia Dukakis and Joe Santos among many others. The story follows Frank Sinatra from his beginnings in New Jersey before he was famous through his marriages and numerous extra-martial affairs, his friendships with people like John F. Kennedy, fellow rat-packers and his ties to the mafia. Gina Gershon played his first wife Nancy. I've always enjoyed Frank Sinatra's music, but was never fanatical about him so I never really knew very much about him besides what was entertainment related or the tabloid crap I take with a grain of salt. I don't know how accurate this movie is; it was produced by his daughter so I'm guessing it's as close to the truth as can be. The movie was worth watching once.

May 5, 2019

Watched the 2001 film Picture Claire starring Juliette Lewis and Gina Gershon. It took me more than half of the movie to figure out what was happening, so I must have missed something at some point. What I understand is... Claire is a woman who only speaks French... and at some point she ratted out some drug dealers and they took revenge by burning her home. She then ends up at the wrong place and time smack dab in the middle of a murder investigation which was really committed by Gina Gershon's character. Both women are being hunted down by either police or other criminals. The movie was ok to see once, but I wouldn't watch it again.

Watched the 2006 coming of age movie Dreamland starring Agnes Bruckner, Kelli Garner, Justin Long, John Corbett and Gina Gershon. Dreamland is a desert trailer park in New Mexico where Audrey lives with her agoraphobic father, who hasn't left home since his wife died. Her best friend has multiple sclerosis, yet has big dreams of becoming Miss America. New neighbors move in and the friend is attracted to the boy so Audrey helps to get them together, only she has feelings for the boy too. Audrey has always taken care of everybody else but finds it's time to start taking care of herself. Gina Gershon plays the neighbor boy's mother. It's a good movie. I'm sure older teens/younger adults would probably enjoy it a lot more, but yes I did enjoy it and it was worth watching.

May 4, 2019

Watched the 1999 movie The Insider starring Al Pacino, Russell Crowe and Christopher Plummer among many others. This movie is based on the real story of the 60 Minutes news segment with a whistle blower who was fired from a major tobacco company when he talked about the chemicals used in cigarettes to make nicotine more addictive and what CBS had to do to keep from getting sued. Gina Gershon played a supporting role as an internal CBS attorney. I've heard of this movie, but I'd never seen it before. It came out at the time when the media had Russell Crowe in our faces every day. I grew so sick of looking at him and I couldn't bear to watch any of his movies for a long time. A lot of time has passed and I'm able to watch his movies now without cringing. This really is an excellent movie and I can see why it was nominated for so many awards. I'm glad I finally saw it.

May 4, 2019

Watched the 2010 movie Love Ranch starring Helen Mirren, Joe Pesci, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Gina Gershon, Bai Ling, Bryan Cranston, Taryn Manning and Gil Bermingham. The movie takes place in mid 70s Reno Nevada and is based on a true story of a married couple who ran the fist legal brothel in the U.S., their infidelities, corruption in law enforcement and politics and the death an an Argentinian boxer. Gina Gershon plays one of the prostitutes at the brothel. You can't go wrong when it comes to a Helen Mirren movie - the woman is phenomenal in everything she does. This is definitely worth watching.

May 4, 2019

Watched the 2008 movie Beer for My Horses starring Toby Keith, Rodney Carrington, Ted Nugent, Tom Skerritt and Curtis Armstrong among many others. I'm not a country music fan, but from what I understand, this movie was adapted from a Toby Keith/Willie Nelson song. It's not the first time a movie has been adapted from a song... Harper Valley PTA and The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia come to mind... those were good movies... this one is not. The premise is about Sheriff deputies in a small redneck town who bust criminals stealing fertilizer to make methamphetamine and stumble into quite a huge Mexican drug cartel. With the number of star cameo appearances like Gina Gershon, Mel Tillis, Mac Davis and WIllie Nelson, you would think this would be a good movie, but it's not. It's narcissistic drivel for Toby Keith and his buddies. If you've seen it and liked it... good for you. I didn't like it at all and would never recommend it to anyone.

April 28, 2019

Watched the 2018 movie Blockers starring Leslie Mann, John Cena, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Newton, Geraldine Viswanathan and Gideon Adlon among many others. Three girls who have grown up together as best friends, make the decision to all lose their virginity on prom night. Their parents have found out about it and decided to stop them. They spend most of the movie trying to track them down and ending up in all kinds of bizarre situations. Gina Gershon has a couple of cameo appearances along with Gary Cole... they play the sex-crazed parents of one of the girl's boyfriend who keep getting interrupted by the girl's parents. It was a cute movie. Nothing special but not bad. It was worth the time to watch.

April 27, 2019

Watched the 1992 black comedy The Player starring Tim Robbins, Fred Ward, Whoopi Goldberg, Greta Scacchi, Peter Gallagher, Cynthia Stevenson, Gina Gershon, Vincent D'Onofrio, Dean Stockwell, Sydney Pollack, Lyle Lovett and Jeremy Piven among others. A powerful movie studio executive is receiving threatening post cards from a writer he ignored, but he doesn't know who that writer is. He thinks he figured out who the writer is because this writer is also bitter towards him because he was ignored. The executive accidentally kills the writer and thinks his problems are over... but they're just beginning. Gina Gershon plays a minor role of ass-kissing assistant who sucks up to Peter Gallagher's character. Just about every single celebrity you can think of who was popular at that time makes a cameo in this... way too many to list here but they're all listed on IMDb. It was a much better movie than I was expecting and deserved all of the award nominations and wins it received.

April 21, 2019

Watched the 1998 movie Palmetto starring Woody Harrelson, Gina Gershon, Elizabeth Shue, Michael Rappaport and Chloe Sevigny. A man spent 2 years in prison when he was framed for corruption. He swears he's never going back to Palmetto, but ends up back with his girlfriend played by Gina Gershon. He meets the young, beautiful wife of the richest man in town and she enlists him to help her and her daughter scam the old man out of his money with a kidnapping scheme. Things go very badly wrong and he ends up the fall guy. It's not a cinematic masterpiece, but it was pretty good and worth the time to watch.

April 21, 2019

Watched the 1998 movie Lulu on the Bridge starring Harvey Keitel, Mira Sorvino, Willem Dafoe, Vanessa Redgrave, Gina Gershon and Mandy Patinkin. I was just reading some reviews of this movie to see what others had to say, because in all honesty, I didn't like it at all. It was brutally painful to sit through as I kept thinking it would get better but it didn't. Nothing about it felt "right". The cast didn't meld, the story was all over the place... I'm not even sure what happened. If you've seen it and liked it... good for you.

April 19, 2019

Watched the 2016 season 3 episode 8 of the TV series Empire titled The Unkindest Cut Gina Gershon Guest starred in. The premise of the show is a former gang member and drug dealer owns and operates Empire Records. He has a medical condition that is going to kill him so he's grooming his sons to take over the business when he's gone. In this episode Empire Records is partnering with a high end fashion event to give Empire Records more credibility. Gina Gershon played the racist high end designer Helen von Wyeth. I've tried watching this show before but it doesn't hold my attention for very long. The individual episodes I watch for actor marathons are always really good.

April 19, 2019

Watched the two episodes of the TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm Gina Gershon guest starred on: Season 4 episode 9 titled The Survivor and Season 6 episode 2 titled The Anonymous Donor. I don't know how to describe the premise of that show. Larry David plays a dramatized version of himself and it has the feel of Seinfeld, which he was a writer on. Gina Gershon played Anna, a woman who worked at the dry cleaners. For Larry's 10th anniversary, his wife gave him permission to have sex with another woman and Anna volunteered but an earthquake put an end to it before it began.

April 14, 2019

Watched the 2006 movie Kettle of Fish starring Matthew Modine and Gina Gershon. This is a romantic comedy/drama about a musician with intimacy issues and a British biologist he sublets his apartment to. They both have confusion about what it is they really want in relationships and learn a valuable lesson from a frog and fish about opposite attraction. There's more sub-plots. You'll have to see the movie for that. This would be a really good date night movie if you're looking for that. I really enjoyed it.

April 13, 2019

Watched the 1997 movie This World, Then the Fireworks starring Billy Zane, Gina Gershon, Rue McClanahan and Sheryl Lee. Fraternal twins witness their father kill a man when they were children, which messed them up for life. They have an incestuous relationship, he can't hold a job and is married to a woman he doesn't love and has a son, she's an insecure prostitute who will do anything for money, their weak and mentally unstable mother knows what goes on between them but isn't able to stop them. He meets a female police officer, has an affair with her and plots to take her home from her. There's a couple of twists and turns along the way. It's disturbing, some people can't handle that kind of subject matter even when it's fiction, but it is a good story and I thought it was worth the time to watch. Billy Zane is one of those charismatic actors you want to keep watching no matter what he's doing.

April 10, 2019

Watched the 1999 movie Guinevere starring Sarah Polley, Stephen Rea, Jean Smart, Gina Gerson, Paul Dooley, Sandra Oh and Jasmine Guy among others. A woman from a very successful and influential family with zero confidence in herself meets a man 30+ years older than her who is a major alcoholic and the photographer at her sister's wedding. She's fascinated by and attracted to him though her family doesn't like it one bit. He calls her Guinevere and insists she drop out of law school and take up some form of art to express herself. His alcoholism causes him to be very volatile but she keeps coming back for more. As time goes on and he feels he can teach her no more, he cuts her loose. It turns out that's his thing with women and there have been many Guinevers, including the woman played by Gina Gershon who tried to warn her about him. There's a whole lot of details I've left out that would give away too much if you haven't seen it. It was an ok movie, not great, but not bad.

April 9, 2019

Watched the 1988 movie Red Heat starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Belushi, Peter Boyle, Laurence Fishburne, Gina Gershon and Ed O'Ross. A Russian police Captain searches for a drug kingpin who killed his partner and fled to the United States. He partners with a Chicago detective to find him. Gina Gershon played the drug kingpin's American wife who wanted out of the situation. I vaguely remember watching this movie when it first came out. It's one of those movies that's ok, not bad, but not great. If you like movies where there's gun violence, beefy Schwarzenegger fights and the predictable James Belushi sarcasm, you'll probably love it.

March 31, 2019

Watched the 2018 movie American Dresser starring Tom Berenger, Keith David, Gina Gershon, Bruce Dern, Penelope Ann Miller, Jeff Fahey and Carmine Cangialosi. Carmine Cangialosi also wrote and directed this movie. Shortly after a man's wife dies, he comes across something in her things that compels him to take a cross country motorcycle trip from New York to the Pacific Northwest. His best friend insists on going with him as a last chance since he's dealing with an issue of his own. Along the way they encounter a drifter with his own issues who tags along. The 3 of them have quite a dramatic adventure as they figure things out. Gina Gershon plays the wife who passed away and is shown in flashback scenes. I don't know what I was expecting, but this movie was so much better than I imagined and well worth the time to see.

March 30, 2019

Watched the season 8 episode 19 of the TV Show The Practice titled The Firm Gina Gershon guest starred in. The premise of the show revolves around the partners and associates of a law firm and their legal cases. In this episode, Gina Gershon reprises her role of Private Investigator Glenn Hall from the 2000 TV show she starred in, Snoops, which I posed about earlier in this marathon. She was brought in to investigate a woman who was raped by a young guy whose rich daddy hired the firm to defend his son. This was a great series if you haven't seen it yet and are looking for something to binge watch.

March 30, 2019

Watched the two 2003 episodes of the animated series Spider-Man titled Sword of Shikata and Keeping Secrets. Gina Gershon was the voice of Shikata, an assassin for hire with telekinetic powers, was assigned to capture Spider-Man. She changed her mind after their first fight because she gained respect for him and from then on only wanted to fight him to the death. The man who hired her to capture Spider-Man put a hit out on her. They fight hard until it's discovered her sword is the source of her power and what keeps her young. When Spider-Man destroys the sword, he defeats Shikata. There were only 13 episodes of this show and I can see why. This is definitely not a show for young kids.

March 30, 2019

Watched the two 2003 season 7 episodes of the TV show Just Shoot Me titled Da Sister who loved DiMauro and My Fair Finchy Gina Gershon guest starred on. The premise of the half hour comedy follows the lives of the employees at a fashion magazine. Gina Gershon played the sexually perverted sister of one of the employees who dates a couple of the guys she works with. It's a great show if you haven't seen it.

March 27, 2019

Watched the five episodes of the 2007 animated TV show The Batman titled The Cat and the Bat, The Cat, the Bat and the Very Ugly, Ragdolls to Riches, The Laughing Cats and Rumors. Gina Gershon is the voice of Catwoman. As always when it comes to Catwoman, Batman must either battle her or join forces with her to defeat other foes. It's a good show for the kids.

March 24, 2019

Watched the 2013 episode of the TV show Wilfred titled Suspicion Gina Gershon guest starred on. The premise of the show is a man with emotional issues is the only person who can see his neighbor's dog Wilfred as a man in a dog suit. In this episode, he is trying to gain the trust of his sister so she will name him guardian of her son if anything should happen to her. She doesn't trust him for that, but she has him babysit at the last minute when she has a date. He doesn't trust her date, and Wilfred smells female sex on him. They track the scent to a place that's a brothel, Gina Gershon plays the Madam. I'm going to leave it there just in case anyone wants to watch it themselves. I've never heard of this show, but it was on for 4 seasons so it had a following.

March 24, 2019

Watched the 2009 episode of the TV show Life On Mars titled Coffee, Tea or Annie Gina Gershon guest starred on. This is the American version of the series that was popular in the U.K. The premise is a detective was in an accident in 2008, and when he woke up, he was trapped in 1973 and had no idea how or why... he just knew he couldn't get back. He went to the police precinct in New York where he worked and they thought he was a new hire so he went to work there. He was in constant frustration trying to function as a cop in 1973 with all the 2008 knowledge and technology in his mind that didn't exist back then. In this episode, a "stewardess" was found murdered. She looked exactly like a female police officer, so she began to pose as the "stewardess" to try and find the killer. Gina Gershon played the wife of a pilot who fell in love with the "stewardess" during one of their many swingers parties. This series only lasted one season. It's not a bad show, but I can see how it got lost in the mix and didn't find a following.

March 24, 2019

Watched the 2015 Amazon Video animated series Lost in Oz. I was just going to watch the episodes Gina Gershon stars in, but I ended up watching both seasons. The synopsis is Dorothy and her little dog Toto are swept up to the Land of Oz and she can't go home until she finds all of the magic objects. Along the way she meets some friends who help her save the Emerald City. Gina Geshon plays Langwidere, the evil aunt of the Witch of the West and has plans to take over the Emerald City, but must stop Dorothy to do it. This series is more like the series of books and not the original movie. I really enjoyed it. I don't know if there will be more episodes or not, but if you're looking for something the family can enjoy, give this a try.

March 20, 2019

Watched the 2002 movie Demonlover starring Connie Nielsen, Charles Berling, Gina Gershon and Chloe Sevigny among many others. I'm not exactly sure what I just watched but I'll try to make sense. The movie takes place in France, Japan and America. These are competitive internet companies vying for control of specific websites and their content. They're cutthroat and play dirty to say the very least as each company has corporate spies in place and employees who will do anything sleazy to get ahead. The way the scenes were shot are not pleasing to the eye and the story isn't good so it's a very difficult movie to stay interested in. I'm not going to tell you not to see it, but I sure didn't care for it.

March 17, 2019

Watched the 2013 made for TV movie House of Versace starring Gina Gershon, Enrico Colantoni, Raquel Welch, Colm Feore and Alex Carter among others. The movie is about Gianni Versace and his company at the height of his success when he was murdered in front of his Miami home. His brother Santo and sister Donatella have to take over the company but in order for Donatella to be able to function, the family has to get her clean from her many years of drug addiction. They go on to create one of the biggest and most successful brands in fashion. I thought Gina Gershon was fantastic as Donatella. She was so believable in that role. Definitely see it if you get the chance.

March 17, 2019

Watched the 2012 movie LOL starring Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore, Douglas Booth, Marlo Thomas, Ashley Greene, Nora Dunn, Gina Gershon and Fisher Stevens among many others. This was a good ensemble coming of agemovie for people of all ages. It's mostly centered around a teenage girl and her dating and friend issues, but there's other subplots centered around the parent's lives too. Gina Gershon plays one of the parents and friends with Demi Moore's character. I wasn't sure I would enjoy it when I first read about it as it was a box office bomb, but in the end I really did like it.

March 16, 2019

Watched the 2006 movie Delirious starring Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt, Alison Lohman and Gina Gershon among others. A young homeless man aspiring to be an actor, befriends a photographer who talks big but is nothing more than an average sleazy paparazzo. The young man becomes the photographer's assistant, moves into his run-down apartment and falls in love with a young female pop star who is having issues of her own. Gina Gershon plays a casting director who becomes his sugar mama and gets him his break. I thought the movie was really good and well worth seeing. If you do watch it, be sure to watch all the way to the end because there's a little more of the story after the credits.

March 14, 2019

Watched the 2017 independent film Lost Cat Corona starring Ralph Macchio, Gina Gershon, Sean Young, Tom Wopat, Anthony Ruivivar, Jeff Kober, Paul Sorvino, David Zayas, Ajay Naidu and Adam Ferrara among many others. Ralph Macchio plays a man who has to spend the day searching for his wife's lost cat and ends up knee deep in all kinds of shady situations throughout the neighborhood in the process as he ponders his life. Gina Gershon plays his wife. I really enjoyed this. You get a good mixture of drama with some light moments that make you laugh. The cat is hilarious.

March 14, 2019

Watched the four 2017 episodes of the TV show Brooklyn Nine Nine Gina Gershon guest starred in titled The Slaughterhouse, The Bank Job, Crime & Punishment and The Big House Pt2. The show is a half hour comedy that's a bit of a spoof of the cop dramas that are so popular. Gina Gershon plays Lt. Melanie Hawkins, the tough as nails cop who heads up the most elite task force. Two of the zany detectives compete with each other to be her favorite. I've seen episodes of the show here and there but it hasn't caught my attention enough to make me want to watch it all the time. People do love it though.

March 12, 2019

Watched the 2016 movie My Dead Boyfriend starring Heather Graham, Scott Michael Foster, Katherine Moennig, Griffin Dunne, John Corbett, Martha Millan and Gina Gershon among many others. The movie takes place in the late 90s. A woman is fired from her job and goes home to find her boyfriend dead in front of the TV. As the story unfolds, the man she believes is her slob deadbeat boyfriend, actually had quite the life as an artist, author, choreographer... and he had sexual relationships with just about everyone with a pulse. It would be considered a black comedy, but leans more towards light comedy than dark. Gina Gershon plays an art gallery owner who, of course, had a relationship at one time with the boyfriend. I enjoyed it and was well worth the time to watch.

March 9, 2019

Watched the 2018 season 5, episode 6 of the TV show Younger Gina Gershon guest starred on titled Sex, Liza and Rock & Roll. The premise of the series is a middle aged single mother who divorced her husband after his gambling left them broke, tries to get a job in publishing but has to start at the bottom and work her way up. That's not a good thing for someone middle aged, so with the help of her friend, she passes herself off as much younger than she really is. The rest of the show centers on the lives of the employees at the publishing agency. Gina Gershon plays a famous rock star who hesitantly wrote a book about her life and is scared about turning it in to the publisher. Personally, I had never heard about this show before tonight, but apparently a lot of people like it since it's in its 6th season.

March 9, 2019

Watched the 2010 episode 19 of the TV show Glory Daze Gina Gershon guest starred on titled What's Love Got to Nude With It. The show revolves around a group of fraternity pledges set in the 80's. Gina Gershon played ROTC Lieutenant Lang... sort of a cross between Demi Moore in the movie A Few Good Men and Demi Moore in G.I. Jane. This series only lasted one season, and I can see why. It's not horrible, but there are too many characters and so so writing for a half hour show. It seemed like they were trying too hard to be like Animal House but was way off. It did have the potential to be a really good show though.

March 9, 2019

Watched the 2005 season 4, episode 19 of the TV show Crossing Jordan titled Embraceable You Gina Gershon guest starred on. The premise of the series centers around forensic pathologist and detectives working together to solve crimes. In this episode, Gina Gershon plays a woman whose boyfriends always die and she's being investigated as sort of a black widow type serial killer... or is she? Crossing Jordan is a really good show. If you haven't seen it, put that on your list of things to binge watch some day.

March 9, 2019

Watched the 1993 movie Love Matters starring Griffin Dunne, Annette O'Toole, Tony Goldwyn, Gina Gershon and Kate Burton. It's about a couple who have a rocky marriage of their own when their friend shows up at their home with the woman he's been having an affair with for over a year and end up having to lie to his wife about it. Gina Gershon plays "the other woman". It's a heavy drama about self realization for all parties involved. Not the greatest movie in the world but it was ok and worth the time to watch. It's on YouTube if you want to see it.

March 9, 2019

Watched the 2010 Turkish film Five Minarets in New York starring Mahsun Kırmızıgül, Haluk Bilginer, Mustafa Sandal, Danny Glover, Gina Gershon, and Robert Patrick. Two Turkish police officers are sent to New York City to locate and arrest a terrorist suspect. He is arrested in New York by the FBI and turned over to the Turkish agents. The man's wife, played by Gina Gershon, and close friend, played by Danny Glover, do what they can to help him because they believe he is innocent. I can't say too much because it will give away the plot. A main focus point of the movie is Islamophobia in both the United States and Turkey since the 9/11 attacks. The senseless hate that people carry with them in the name of whatever religion they practice or whatever god they believe in when in reality, all people are the same. I must say, this movie upset me so much it took some time for me to process what I had seen before I could post this short paragraph. Every single person should watch this and learn a lesson from it and become better people.

March 3, 2019

Watched the 1991 movie Jungle Fever starring Wesley Snipes, Annabella Sciorra, Spike Lee, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Quinn, John Turturro, Halle Berry, Michael Imperioli, Nicholas Turturro, Debi Mazar and Tim Robbins. The story is about a successful black business man who has an affair with a white woman at the company and all the racial fallout from it. I thought I'd missed Gina Gershon, but from what I've since read online, her scenes were deleted from the movie along with Illeana Douglas'. Both do appear in the trailer for the movie, which is where I got the screenshot below. It was an ok movie. Typical Spike Lee. Seeing it once was enough.

March 2, 2019

Watched the 1981 movie Beatlemania starring David Leon, Mitch Weissman, Tom Teeley and Ralph Castelli. This is a concert movie of the Beatles music with a bunch of psychedelic blips, 60s iconic photos and clips. I remember seeing this way back then. I had just started high school. I love the Beatles, but never really cared for this movie because it's too much. Their music was great all on its own without all the distractions. You don't see Gina Gershon's face in this, just her dancing legs.

March 2, 2019

Watched the 2001 movie Driven starring Sylvester Stallone, Burt Reynolds, Kip Pardue, Til Schweiger, Gina Gershon, Estella Warren, Christian de la Fluente, Stacy Edwards and Robert Sean Leonard. I'm a die-hard motor sports fan and gear head, so technically the movie is ridiculous. But, putting all of that aside, it's just a movie and not real and the story is good. A rookie CART (Championship Auto Racing Teams) driver is in the middle of a championship run but is losing his edge. A veteran driver with his own issues is brought in to get him back in the right frame of mind. Gina Gershon plays Sylvester Stallone's bitter ex-wife, who is now married to another driver who is a friend of his. There's some side stories of the driver's personal lives. It has that typical feel-good ending similar to some Stallone movies like the Rocky series, Over the Top and Victory.  It was fun to see some familiar real racers in cameos like Juan Pablo Montoya, Max Papis, Jacques Villeneuve, Adrain Fernandez and Tony Kanaan.

March 2, 2019

Watched the 2013 independent film Dealin' with Idiots starring Jeff Garlin, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Jamie Gertz, Fred Willard, Richard Kind, Gina Gershon, Nia Vardalos and Bob Odenkirk among many others. The story is about a comic who notices the parents of his son's little league baseball team are all nuts so he gets the idea learn more about them for his next possible movie project. Gina Gershon, along with Kerri Kenney-Silver, play a lesbian couple whose adopted son is on the team. Not the greatest movie, but it is enjoyable and worth the time to watch.

February 26, 2019

Had a bit of a break as I've been getting used to my new job so let the Gina Gershon marathon continue! Watched the 2008 movie Just Business starring Gina Gershon, Jonathan Watton, Earl Pastko, Zachary Bennett, John Robinson and Anthony J. Mifsud. This was an interesting movie. An old burglar goes on one last heist and steals paintings from Mr. Gray. Mr. Gray is desperate to get one particular painting back. The burglar disappears. His daughter is a lawyer trying to get her father back and makes a deal with Mr. Gray. Then comes the major pot twist as it all becomes clear what's going on. If you don't know the story of Dorian Gray, you won't understand the ending. You may want to watch one of the many movies about Dorian Gray first like the 1970 or 2009 movies Dorian Gray - those two are my favorites but there are others. Then, you'll understand and appreciate the ending. This movie is definitely worth seeing.

February 17, 2019

Watched the 2018 independent film After Everything starring Maika Monroe and Jeremy Allen White. Shortly after Elliott is diagnosed with cancer, he and Mia fall in love. The majority of the story revolves around her sacrifices to help him and the rest is him being an asshole to her until he realizes it and then it's too late. There's a lesson to be learned in there. Gina Gershon plays Mia's mother. There's a brief scene with Joe Keery for those of us who love Stranger Things. It is a really good movie and worth the time to watch.

February 17, 2019

Watched the 1994 movie Flinch starring Gina Gershon, Judd Nelson and Nick Mancuso. The story is about two people who are live window mannequins at a department store. One evening they witness a man killing a woman. They report it to the police, but are having a difficult time getting anyone to believe them. Meanwhile, the killer knows they saw it and is after them. There aren't any surprises in the story line but it is well done and worth the time to watch.

February 17, 2019

Watched the 2012 movie Breathless starring Gina Gershon, Kelli Giddish, Val Kilmer and Ray Liotta. This is a black comedy about a woman who kills her husband after learning he robbed a bank and was going to take off with the money and leave her behind. Her and her best friend try to dispose of the body but the mess just keeps growing. There's some plot twists along the way and things aren't really what they seem. The movie is freakin' hilarious but very gross and not appropriate for the young ones. For the adults who aren't too squeamish, I do recommend it.

February 17, 2019

Watched the 2017 movie Bad Kids of Crestview Academy starring Sammi Hanratty, Sean Astin, Gina Gershon, Colby Arps, Drake Bell, Sophia Ali and Erika Daly among others. Apparently this is a sequel to a 2012 movie called Bad Kids Go to Hell where a boy named Matt Clarke is framed for murdering everyone in Saturday detention and ends up in an insane asylum. This movie takes place 5 years later and again the kids in detention are being murdered. One girl got herself into detention on purpose to find out the real story behind her sister's death. Of course they're all linked. This is a black comedy, and I think the attempt was to make it a cross between Heathers and The Breakfast Club, but the only humor in it is Sean Astin. I'm not going to say this is a bad movie... I'm sure this movie would appeal more to people half my age.

February 16, 2019

Watched season 2 of the 2011 TV series How to Make it in America. The premise of the show is a group of young people start a clothing company and attempt to make it big in New York. In season 2, Gina Gershon plays a woman named Nancy Frankenburg, who is a big deal in the fashion industry and helps these guys, who have no idea what they're doing, get their clothes into Barney's and gives them guidance and direction for their brand. Definitely a fantasy story. I'm not going to speak for anyone else, but when I was watching the show, I felt like it didn't really have a clear direction and that it was being made up as they went along. Maybe it the episodes were a half hour instead of an hour, maybe it would have been better. The show definitely has its good points so it is worth watching, but I can see why it only lasted 2 seasons.

February 12, 2019

Watched all 9 of the season 4 & 5 episodes of the 2004 TV series Rescue Me. Gina Gershon played the recurring guest role as Valerie, who has an on/off sexual relationship with Tommy. She can't stand to be touched after she orgasms and he can't get over his ex-wife. I watched the first couple of seasons of this show when it was originally on but it lost my attention. I can't remember why I stopped watching it - I think it changed days or time slot or something. I'll have to add it to my watch list to someday go back and watch all 7 seasons.

February 2, 2019

Watched the 2006 movie Man About Town starring Ben Affleck, Gina Gershon, Rebecca Romijn, Howard Hesseman, Adam Goldberg, John Cleese, Bai Ling and Jerry O'Connell among several others. A man who is part owner of a very successful talent management company in Los Angeles is at a point in his life where he feels lost so he enrolls in a class he thinks may help. The instructor has them write in journals as their on-going assignment. His world starts to fall apart when he learns his wife has been having an affair with his biggest client and his father is not well and has some form of dementia. A woman who wants revenge because he has never signed her as a client has her boyfriend rob his house where his journal with all of his secrets is stolen. She's writing an article based on what's in the journal and is threatening to sell it to be published, which will ruin him and the agency.  Gina Gershon plays one of his long-time best friends and one of the partners in the agency. The movie is mainly a drama with some light hearted moments. The only thing I didn't like about it is Bai Ling. For some reason she just grates on my last nerve so I try to avoid anything with her in it when I can. Except for that, I really liked the movie.

February 1, 2019

Watched the 1986 made for TV movie Stark: Mirror Image starring Nicolas Surovy, Kirstie Alley, Pat Corley, Michelle Phillips, Ben Murphy, Gina Gershon, David Ackroyd and Dennis Hopper. This is the sequel movie to the 1985 movie Stark. A Kansas police detective is murdered and it leads Detective Stark to Las Vegas to find out why as more people are killed to prevent that. Gina Gershon plays a Las Vegas show girl whose sister is played by Kirstie Alley. This is a pretty good movie that stays interesting the whole time. It's on YouTube if anyone wants to see it.

February 1, 2019

Watched the 2017 season 1, episode 2 of the TV show Crashing titled The Road Gina Gershon guest starred on. The premise of this series is a broke guy, played by Pete Holmes, who used to want to be a Christian youth pastor who has a drug addict friend, played by Artie Lange, both trying to be stand-up comics while the one tries to keep the other once sober. Gina Gershon plays a woman who was at the club where they were performing and agrees to go and do drugs with the recovering addict and the good guy stops it by basically kidnapping her and then taking her home. This is basically a show where the main characters are playing themselves and it's not funny. Who wants to watch Artie Lange be the vulgar drug addict he is in real life? The show is in its third season as of this day so apparently there are people out there who like it. I don't.

February 1, 2019

Watched the 2009 season 1, episode 5 of the TV show Eastbound  & Down titled Chapter 5 Gina Gershon guest starred on. The premise of the series is a guy who was a professional baseball player had to "retire" because he was basically beyond a jerk. He had to return to the town he's from and start teaching P.E. at a middle school and apparently he's trying to better his life. He also helps out his friend with his construction business. Gina Gershon played a really bitchy real estate flipper who was really mean to the construction crew she hired to work on a house. I can't see me watching the entire series. Will Farrell is one of the executive producers and has a recurring role as a ridiculous car salesman who looks like former wrestler Ric Flair. With Will Farrell, I either really like his work or I really don't like it with no in between. Just watching this one episode, it had really gotten on my nerves. It was on for 4 seasons so it had an audience. You'll have to decide for yourself if you should watch it or not.

February 1, 2019

Watched the 2013 made for TV movie Hunt for the Labyrinth Killer starring Amanda Schull, Michael Nouri, Coby Ryan McLaughlin, Anne Ramsey, Eric Michael Roy, James Avery and Gina Gershon. This is a very hard movie to try and sum up without giving something away because there's a lot going on here. The ex-wife of a former mayor is murdered. It's determined to be an infamous serial killer nicknamed Daedalus because he always painted a labyrinth symbol next to or on the bodies. The killing have been happening since the 1960s and three men had been wrongly convicted over the years by the same judge, or so they thought. A young attorney working in the DAs office, who happens to be the daughter of the judge I just mentioned, is assigned to the case along with a detective. Things start to rapidly happen and the judge is arrested by the detective for that murder and then charged with several others. The attorney enlists the help of a private detective and they begin to figure things out. Now is where I need to stop telling the story because it gets complicated and there are many twists right up until the last moment of the movie. You can probably guess who Gina Gershon played in this. I thought it was a good movie and worth the time to watch.

February 1, 2019

Watched the 2007 season 2, episode 1 of the TV show Psych titled American Duos. The psychics are hired to guard and figure out who is trying to kill one of the judges on a TV competition reality show called American Duos. It's a parody of American Idol. Gina Gershon plays one of the judges who is a spoof of Paula Abdul; a has-been strung out drug addict who rarely knows what's going on. The judge someone is trying to kill is a spoof of Simon Cowell played by the great Tim Curry. He's beyond cruel and everybody hates him. I've seen a lot of this show, but I've never seen all of the episodes. Someday I'll have to binge watch it because it is really good.

February 1, 2019

Watched the 1998 season 6, episode 9 of the TV show The Larry Sanders Show titled Just the Perfect Blendship. Of course Gina Gershon plays herself and is on the Larry Sanders talk show being interviewed about her movie Bound. Larry asks her out to dinner, then learns that she used to date Jeff Goldblum, who is a good friend of his. When they were having dinner, Larry mentions that he thinks Jeff feels weird about him having dinner with her. She suggests that the three of them have dinner together and talk it out. I used to watch this show all the time when it was originally on. Garry Shandling was priceless.

January 31, 2019

Watched all three of the 2015 season 2 episodes of  Z Nation Gina Gerson guest starred in; Party with the Zeros, Adios Muchachos and All Good Things Must Come to an End. If you're not familiar the show, it takes place after a zombie apocalypse occurs where most of the humans are killed. A group of inmates in a prison were subject to different vaccination tests and only one man named Murphy survived where he ended up becoming half human and half zombie. It is believed he is the key to curing the zombies so he is being escorted by a team from New York to the only clinic in Los Angeles. In the 3 episodes Gina Gerson guest stars in, she plays La Reina, and is also referred to as Queen of the Dead. Her late husband was one of the biggest drug lords in Mexico and now she is the leader of the cartel. She has a team intercept Murphy and the rest of the team and brought to Mexico where she has a "doctor" who will use Murphy's blood to make a vaccination, make a fortune selling it and regenerate the human species. I won't give away how that ends up. You can watch it if you like. It's a good show.

January 31, 2019

Watched all three seasons (26 episodes) of the 2017 Amazon original series Red Oaks. With so many different entertainment platforms these days, the market is flooded with so many shows, it's impossible to keep up with all of them. If I hadn't done this marathon, I never would have known this show existed. The show mainly focuses on a young college age man in the 1980's working for the summer at a New Jersey country club as a tennis instructor and his drama with relationships, friends, and life. Gina Gershon had a recurring role as the wife of 25 years to the president of the club, played by Paul Reiser. It was an enjoyable show and worth the time to watch.

January 29, 2019

Watched the silly 2016 Funny or Die video A Message from Melania Trump. Gina Gershon parodies Melania very well. She nails Melania to a T. It's on the Funny or Die website and YouTube if you want to see it.

January 29, 2019

Watched the 1994 season 2, episode 11 of the TV show The Untouchables titled The Skin Trade. This is another version based on the true story of Al Capone and his mob against the FBI led by Eliot Ness. Gina Gershon plays a Russian woman who is dating Agent Robbins. Her father is a businessman who is in debt to Al Capone and refuses the help of law enforcement. I never watched this series when it was originally on, I'm just not a fan of mobsters, but it was a well done show. It was good to see Paul Regina in this as Frank Nitti. The TV show Brothers in which he starred is among my favorite shows. I found this episode on YouTube if you want to see it.

January 29, 2019

Watched the 2015 season 6, episode 8 of the TV show Glee titled A Wedding. Gina Gershon played Blaine's mother. This was the final season of Glee where all of the kids are in college, falling in love and getting married. Everyone gathers for the wedding of Brittany and Santana, which turns into a double wedding with Blaine and Kurt. I remember seeing this just before same sex marriage became legal in all 50 states. In this episode, they have the weddings in Indiana because same sex marriage wasn't legal in Ohio yet. This is the ultimate TV show of inclusion, acceptance and courage to reach for your dreams no matter what. There's something for everyone in it as everyone can relate to the characters in some way.

January 29, 2019

Watched the 2013 season 2, episode 43 of the TV show Anger Management titled Charlie Loses His Virginity Again. I'd never seen this show before and was stunned that in season 2 alone there are 90 episodes. I've never heard of a TV show having 90 episodes in a season before. Interesting. Gina Gershon played Mandy, the woman who took Charlie's virginity in high school. She remembered him as being really quick in the sack. She agrees to sleep with him again so he can prove he's not quick and spends the rest of the episode going to extreme measures to make that happen. I'm not likely to watch all of the remaining episodes. I'm not that excited about it. I'll watch episodes as they come up in my actor marathons.

January 29, 2019

Watched all three of the 2007 season 1 episodes of Ugly Betty Gina Gerson guest starred in; PilotI'm Coming Out and East Side Story. She played Fabia, the highly over processed plastic owner of Fabia Cosmetics who advertises in all of the Meade Publications and trades constant put-downs with Wilhelmina. I do enjoy this show, though I have yet to see all of the episodes. I've got it queued up now and will watch an episode here and there until I'm done.

January 29, 2019

Watched all three of the 1993 season 2 episodes of Melrose Place Gina Gerson guest starred in; Married to It, Collision Course and Cold Turkey. She played a waitress at Shooters and a prostitute who introduces Sydney into the wonderful world of prostitution by introducing her to the madam. I hated this show back then and quit watching it after the first season. I still hate it. I'm baffled that it was on the air for 7 seasons and had a brief reboot so apparently there's a mass audience for it, but it's just not for me.

January 21, 2019

Watched the 2003 movie Prey for Rock & Roll starring Gina Gershon, Lori Petty, Drea de Matteo, Shelly Cole and Marc Blucas. I tried to watch this movie yesterday since it was the anniversary of when it first premiered at Sundance, but alas, there were technical difficulties with Vudu, the only streaming site I could find it on. The issue was resolved today and I was able to finish watching it. An aging wannabe rock star is the lead singer with an all-girl rock band. Each member has their own issues with life but playing in the band is what they all live for. I absolutely love this movie. It will make you mad, sad and laugh. The soundtrack is fantastic. Definitely see it if you haven't yet.

January 19, 2019

Watched the 1997 movie Touch starring Skeet Ulrich, Bridget Fonda, Christopher Walken, Tom Arnold, Conchata Ferrell, John Doe, Gina Gershon and Janeane Garofalo. Juvenal is an ex monk who has the ability to heal people and suffers Stigmata from it. Some believe he's a fake, some worship him and some want to take advantage and profit off of him. He falls in love and suffers the wrath of a religious nut who believes she's bad for him and has to resolve the problem himself. Gina Gershon plays a television talk show host who is a tad sleazy in the way she interviews people. This was a really good movie. It's listed as a black comedy... and yeah there is some light humor in it but it's mostly a drama. It was definitely worth watching.

January 19, 2019

Binge watched both seasons of the 2013 TV show Cleaners starring Emmanuelle Chriqui, Emily Osment, Gina Gershon, David Arquette and Missi Pyle. I had never heard of this before and it was on Crackle TV of which I wasn't even aware of until now. There's so many online mediums for TV shows and movies these days, I've completely lost track of it all. Two women are contract assassins and hired by "Mother" (played by Gina Gershon). Normally they work alone, but Mother thought this job needed 2 people. Things go wrong, Mother puts a hit out on the assassins and they end up having to go on the run. Season 1 is only 6 half hour episodes and good enough to keep my interest. Season 2 was 13 episodes and a continuation of season 1. It was still good but the powers that be tried to hard to make it funnier, especially Missi Pyle's character, and it didn't seem quite right. Both seasons are extremely violent. Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger so when the show was cancelled, there wasn't full closure. I'm not going to recommend it and I'm not going to say don't watch it. This one is totally up to you.

January 18, 2019

Watched the 2013 season 1 episode 5 of the TV show Maron titled A Real Woman. I have never heard of this show before now. It's about an aging comedian whose life is a hot mess with a popular podcast. In this episode, Gina Gershon plays a woman who seeks him out, seduces him, makes him think she really likes him, but all the while she's married and just wants him to help her son with his new podcast. In all honesty, I'm not likely to watch the rest of the series. I really didn't care for it. In all fairness, it was on for 4 seasons and had an audience who apparently liked it, so I'm not going to say don't see it. See it if you want and judge for yourself.

January 18, 2019

Watched season 1 of the the 2004 CGI TV show Tripping the Rift. This was a silly show that spoofed all of the sci-fi shows like Star Trek in a very gross and raunchy way. This definitely is NOT a show for kids. Gina Gershon voices the character Six, who is an android built as a sex slave but was reprogrammed and now works on the ship as the science officer. She's still very horny though and lets everybody know it. Gina did the character for that voice in season one, then Carmen Electra in season two and Jenny McCarthy in season 3. If you're one of those people who get easily offended by everything these days, don't watch it. If you have an open mind, you'll probably enjoy it.

January 18, 2019

Watched the 1989 season 2, episode 7 of the TV show Monsters titled Jar. This show is similar to Tales From the Darkside. It's a half hour story, mostly mild horror stories, with different guest stars in every episode. In Jar, a private detective goes to a motel to investigate the disappearance of a woman. He's learned that a lot of people who have visited the area have disappeared. There's only one other couple registered at this motel... a very wealthy older man and his much younger wife. The owner of the hotel sells his "special pickles", which is what people go there to get when they want to make someone disappear. I vaguely remember watching that series back in the 80s. This episode is on YouTube if you want to see it. I don't know if the whole series is or not, but you can check.

January 16, 2019

Watched the 1990 movie Voodoo Dawn starring Gina Gershon, Grant Albrecht and Tony Todd. The only copy I could find was on a foreign website where it was dubbed in another language... don't know exactly what language. I could hear the original English dialog under the dubbing so I understood what was happening. It's a typical low budget horror movie with no bells and whistles and not a lot of excitement. Farm workers in Haiti have to battle a voodoo priest who uses body parts to create zombies. The video quality is bad so there's some night scenes you can't even see very well. If you love bad low budget horror, then this is for you. If not, don't rush to find it.

January 16, 2019

Watched the 1986 movie 3:15 starring Adam Baldwin, Rene Aberjonois and Deborah Foreman. I can't believe I missed seeing this before today. I've had a crush on Adam Baldwin since 1980 when his starred in My Bodyguard, yet this one completely got by me. He played a high school student who was in a street gang. He became disillusioned with the gang when the gang leader murdered a boy for no reason, so he quit and focused on school and becoming an athlete instead. The gang has vowed revenge and will hurt anyone they have to in order to get to him. Gina Gershon plays one of the female gang members, who are just as brutal as the boys. If you're a fan of the old TV show The Waltons, you'll get a cameo of David Harper who played Jim Bob in one of just a few roles he did that wasn't Waltons related. It's not a great movie by any means, the production quality isn't that great, but it's not bad either and was worth the time to watch.

January 16, 2019

Watched the 1986 movie Pretty In Pink starring Molly Ringwald, Jon Cryer, Andrew McCarthy, James Spader, Harry Dean Stanton and Annie Potts. Gina Gershon plays one fo the girls in the gym class. I've probably seen this movie a few dozen times. This was the time when I was a teenager and these are the movies I relate to personally. A poor girl and a rich guy fall for each other. Of course peer pressure and insecurities they both have make having a relationship complicated. John Hughes wrote this along with some of the most successful teen films of the 80's. He knew what young people of that era wanted. We basically wanted to see ourselves. We can all relate to his characters in some way. If you've never seen this, you're missing out.

January 15, 2019

Watched the 2017 movie 9/11 starring Gina Gershon, Charlie Sheen, Whoopi Goldberg, Luis Guzman, Wood Harris, Olga Fonda, Jacqueline Bisset and Bruce Davison. As the title of the movie suggests, this is based on the true story of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York. The story is about 5 people on an elevator who end up stuck when the first plane crashes into the World Trade Center. They tell their personal stories as they fight to get out. As with anything related to that day, there is no happy ending. I had to keep stopping the movie just because I was so emotional. Anything about that day makes me hysterical... like it was yesterday. I finally got through it and it is a very well done movie.

January 15, 2019

Binge watched the 1999 TV show Snoops which starred Gina Gershon as the owner of Glen Hall Inc, a private detective agency. The show was mostly a drama with a little bit of added action and comedy. It only aired for one season with 13 episodes before it was cancelled. I read that creator David E. Kelley knew that the show was cancelled before he wrote the last show so he wrote that with closure as a series finale. It's a shame networks can't give shows two seasons to catch an audience before cancelling. So many good shows get dumped like that. All 13 episodes are on YouTube, and thank you Tami for sending me the link so I didn't have to look it up.

January 14, 2019

Watched the 2018 movie The Little Mermaid starring William Moseley, Poppy Drayton, Loreto Peralta, Jo Marie Payton, Armando Gutierrez, Shirley MacLaine, Gina Gershon, Chris Yong and Shanna Collins. A grandmother is telling a bedtime story to her two granddaughters about why she believes mermaids are real. Cam is a writer who has custody of his niece, Elle, after her parents died. He's given a writing assignment to go to a Mississippi town where a man has been selling his miracle healing water and people swear that it's the real deal. Gina Gershon plays a crazy church lady who swears it helped her. That man is a carnival barker with an assortment of oddities, including a mermaid. A whole dramatic story unfolds around how and why the oddities are with the carnival and their desire to be free of it. I really enjoyed this movie. I wouldn't recommend it for really young kids. There's nothing in it that would traumatize kids, but I just don't think it would hold their interest because it's not what you would call "exciting". But, it is a great story and the actors are fantastic. Of course every time I see William Moseley in anything, I have to keep reminding myself I'm old enough to be his mother. He's a handsome one.

January 13, 2019

Watched the 1998 movie I'm Losing You starring Frank Langella, Andrew McCarthy, Rosanna Arquette, Salome Jens, Gina Gershon, Elizabeth Perkins and Ed Begley Jr. Your typical dysfunctional family drama... murder, lies, fame, money, con artists, irresponsibility, infidelity, terminal illness, drug addicts, mental illness... you name it. Again, not the best movie, but good and worth watching.

January 13, 2019

Watched the 1999 movie Black and White starring Gina Gershon, Rory Cochrane, Ron Silver, Alison Eastwood, Ross Partridge and James Handy. It's a story about a string of murders where the victim is shot in the left eye. They have figured out it's a cop doing the killings, but which one and why? The story literally plays out to the end and just when you think you have it figured out, you don't. Not the best movie, but it's not bad either. It's worth the time to watch.

January 11, 2019

Watched the 2005 TV mini series Category 7: The End of the World starring Gina Geshon, Cameron Daddo, Randy Quaid, Shannen Doherty, Robert Wagner, Swoosie Kurtz, James Brolin, Nicolas Lea, Tom Skerritt, James Kirk and a lot of other people. This is one of those natural disaster movies - a followup to the mini series Category 6: Day of Destruction. Global warming has taken a real toll on the world and now there are super storms popping up all over the globe. Two super storms are about to collide over Washington DC and a group of people led by scientists and the head of FEMA have to try and figure out how to stop it. There's a sub-story going on too where a crazy man kidnaps the kids of the most powerful people in DC who were in the process of being taken to a place safe from the storm. Except for a lot of the scenes being unnecessarily flashy and choppy which was really annoying, it's a good movie. I love a good disaster movie.

January 8, 2019

Watched the 2009  season 5, episode 18 of the TV series Numb3rs titled 12:01 AM. There's a mobster boss who is going to be put to death at midnight. The police are alerted that there's information that could prove he's innocent. By the time the police get there, the guy with the information is dead. The rest of the show is the FBI trying to determine if the guy is innocent or not. He's a hard core gangster who has committed many murders besides the one he's on death row for, so does it really matter if he's innocent or not? Watch it and find out. I've never watched that show before. I'll have to do an actor marathon of someone who is on the show some time and see the rest of it.

January 8, 2019

Watched the 1987 season 2, episode 10 of the 80's TV series The Twilight Zone titled Time and Teresa Golowitz. This episode starred Paul Sand, Grant Heslov, Gene Barry, Kristi Lynes and Gina Gershon. A man named Binky dies and is visited by the Prince of Darkness, who gives him one wish before going to heaven or hell. Binky want's to "make it" with a girl named Mary Ellen from his past so he's transported back in time to a party where she is. Gina Gershon is a girl named Laura, which is really the Prince of Darkness. She/He tells Binky about how another girl named Teresa Golowitz, who is also at the party, is lonely and tired of no one paying any attention to her and she'll be committing suicide that night. Not going to say how the rest of it goes, there is a twist you don't expect. I found the episode on YouTube.

January 8, 2019

Watched the 2014 Funny or Die short Sharklumbo starring Kevin Pollak and Gina Gershon. I must be living under a rock or something. I've never heard of this silly little video before now. I love Funny or Die videos and really enjoyed this one. It's on the Funny or Die website and YouTube.

January 8, 2019

Watched the 2000 music video by Lenny Kravitz for his remake of the song Again. Gina Gershon is in it quite a bit as his girlfriend but he wants somebody else.

January 7, 2019

Watched the 1984 music video by the band The Cars for their song Hello Again. The video was directed by and has appearances by Andy Warhol. Gina Gershon has one scene where she has the word HELLO on her tongue.

January 7, 2019

Watched the 2005 season 4, episode 3 of the animated TV show Family Guy titled Blind Ambition. Quagmire got arrested for watching Lois go to the bathroom. Peter wants to be known for something but ends up blind. Gina Gershon has one line "he's all yours Joe" as the female police officer. Who doesn't love Family Guy?

January 7, 2019

Watched the 1990 episode of the TV show Cop Rock titled The Cocaine Mutiny. Gina Gershon played an actress who had a stalker and wanted the police to help her. She ended up murdering the stalker when she shot him after the police officer she deceived into believing she liked him, already had him under arrest. She got off without being charged and he ended up with a broken heart. I remember watching that show when it first aired. I really wanted it to be a good show, but sadly it wasn't. It only ran for 11 episodes before it was cancelled. Now Cop Rock is always listed in TV Guide's list of top 50 worst TV shows ever made. I found this episode on YouTube - perhaps the others are on there too if you want to see them.

January 7, 2019

Watched the 1997 season 4 episode 22 episode of the TV show Ellen titled The Puppy Episode. This is the groundbreaking episode where Ellen officially came out as gay on national TV. I don't think anyone was shocked Ellen is a lesbian, it was pretty much an open secret for a long time. This was the first time she acknowledged it publicly and that paved the way for a lot of others to come out and begin to introduce homosexuality into the mainstream... as it should be. There's a dream sequence in this episode where Ellen is going through a grocery store and comes across several well known gay icons and allies like Demi Moore, Billy Bob Thornton, K.D. Lang, Jenny Shimizu and Dwight Yoakam. Gina Gershon plays the store cashier, Oprah Winfrey is Ellen's therapist, Kathy Najimy is in the gay bar, Laura Dern plays her love interest and Melissa Etheridge sings the opening theme song for that episode. One of the greatest moments in 20th century television history.

January 7, 2019

I'm a die-hard viewer of the TV show Riverdale, currently in its 3rd season. It was a real pleasure to see Gina Gershon on the show this season as Jughead and Jellybean's mother, Gladys Jones, in two episodes: No Exit & Outbreak. Gladys is a high ranking figure in the Toledo Serpents gang and currently runs a stolen car fencing ring even though her original reason for leaving Riverdale and her ex-husband FP Jones was to get away from all the criminal activity. She puts an end once and for all to the feud between Jughead and Penny Peabody after getting all the information Jughead needed. I hope she'll be making more appearances as the series continues. She's perfect in that role. Riverdale is a great show if you're not familiar with it.

January 7, 2019

I recently watched the 2017 movie Inconceivable as part of my Faye Dunaway marathon on this blog site. The film stars Gina Gershon, Nicky Whelan, Nicholas Cage and Faye Dunaway. A woman and her daughter move to town. She befriends a couple who also have a daughter. They invite her and her daughter to live in their guest house and work as their nanny. The mother in-law doesn't trust her from the beginning. Turns out the woman has a few screws loose. She was an embryo donor and doesn't like the way the donor recipients are raising "her" kids so she does some really bad things. The couple she is living with now fall into that category. It's along the lines of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle and definitely worth the time to watch.

January 7, 2019

I recently watched the 2008 TV mini series Everything She Ever Wanted as part of my Victor Garber marathon I posted on social media last year. The movie stars Gina Gershon, Ryan McPartlin, Victor Garber, Martin Donovan and Rachel Blanchard among others. Tom is a young man who tries hard to please his father but can't. His father sides with his ex-wife in their divorce. Tom meets and falls in love with an older woman named Pat who is very manipulative. She convinces him to buy her dream home even though he can't afford it. She talks his grandparents into selling their home and using the money to put into the house and in return, they could live there. As the story goes on, people start to figure her out. She doesn't let anybody stand in the way of her having the life she wants and believes she's entitled to. One night at Tom's parent's home, gunshots ring out and it's a mystery as to who really did the killings. That answer becomes clear as the story unfolds. This is a really good movie to watch if you haven't seen it.

January 7, 2019

The first thing I always do before I begin an actor marathon is set up an Excel spreadsheet listing all of their credits listed on IMDb and divide it into Film and Television. This makes it easier for me to know where online to look for them. As I watch the movies and TV shows I'll highlight the lines yellow. The goal is to have all of the lines yellow. If after exhausting every resource I know of and I'm unable to find something, I'll highlight it red. I now have my Gina Gershon page all set up and I'm ready to begin the marathon.

  1. You need to see "Snoops". It was only 13 episodes in 1999, Gina starred as a private eye... oh, so sexy... she was in her PRIME. The eps are on You tube, transferred from vhs... they look bad, but totally worth watching! Gina is ADORABLE in every single one. See them at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijwkt7FmnAE&list=PLQQ4DpKtNIp-GghsSc7rVwaQG6tehKIcm Have fun!
